JAMMU, Dec 23: The 7th Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Karate Championship 2025 concluded today. The championship, organised by the Amateur Karate-Do Association of Jammu & Kashmir (AKAJK), featured competitions in Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior, Under-21 and Senior categories.
Over 600 athletes participated from different districts across Jammu and Kashmir. Udhampur District won the overall championship trophy, while Jammu District finished as first runner-up and Kupwara District secured second runner-up.
The closing ceremony was graced by Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Jammu & Kashmir, as the chief guest. Rahil Gupta, Vice Chairman, AKAJK, attended as guest of honour. The function was presided over by Ambedkar Gupta, President, AKAJK and National Karate Team Coach, along with Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, General Secretary, AKAJK. Renowned actor and director Tarun Sharma, President Nat Manch and Ritika Salathia, Incharge Bhagwati Nagar Stadium, were also present.
The Organising Committee included Amit Sangra, Tushar Jandial, Manish Saini, Ganesh Gupta, Rinku Sharma, Anil Sharma, Poonam Salathia, Deepika Chouhan, Deepa Sharma, Rajan Jamwal, Pooja Sharma, Gurmam Kour, Tajmul Ahmed Khan, Shiv Arpit Manhas, Rohit Ramotra, Rohit Kumar, Gungun Sharma, Vikas Charak, Sourav Mehra, Zubair Ahmad Dar, Sahil Singh, Akhtar, Moien Ahmad, Ayub Para, Vatsal Safaya, Vansh Sambyal, Abid Hassan, Khalid Bin, Nitin Sharma, Palvi Sharma, Mohd. Maqboul Mir, Manik Banmotra, Meenakshi Raina, Owais and Shakir. Akhtar, Head Admin, Sports data South Asia, served as Tournament Technical Director.
