CPI marks 100 years with centenary event

JAMMU, Dec 26: Communist Party of India (CPI) today organized a program at the CPI Headquarters, Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu, to commemorate 100 years of the formation of the Party.
The programme was organized under the banner of the CPI State committee and witnessed large participation from State council members, party activists and mass organization representatives, including leaders of the All India Students Federation (AISF).
Party leaders and members present on the occasion paid rich tribute to the historic legacy of the CPI and the martyrs of the communist movement. Senior leader Rakesh highlighted the history of the communist movement in India, underlining its decisive role in the freedom struggle.
Several other leaders also addressed the gathering. They include Amarjeet Singh and Sukdev Singh (CPI State council members), Sanjay Kotwal (State president AISF J&K), Dr Shabir Ahmad, Surjeet Singh, Mudassir Ahmed, Arjun Singh, Subash Mehta and Firoz Ahmed.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to rebuild and expand the Left movement across the country to firmly uphold the constitutional values of secularism, democracy, and social justice.
