District Jammu Gymnastics C’ship inaugurated with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Dec 27: The opening ceremony of the District Jammu Gymnastics Championship 2025-26 was held with great enthusiasm, marking an important step in the promotion of gymnastics in the district.
The event was inaugurated by Kiran Wattal, president of the Gymnastics Association of J&K and vice president of the Gymnastics Federation of India. The championship saw active participation from gymnasts representing various schools and academies.
The district-level gymnastics championships are being organized this year in 11 districts of J&K, including Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag, Kathua, Poonch, Reasi, Rajouri and Udhampur. Notably, the championship is being conducted for the first time in Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag in the Kashmir division, and in Rajouri and Udhampur in the Jammu division.
The championship is being organized in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, with active support from Nusrat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council and Satish Sharma, Minister for Sports J&K.
The event is being coordinated by Mittali, Natasha and Ravinder Singh. Satyam Gupta, district president, Gymnastics Association of Jammu and Anish Chatterjee Koul, district secretary, Gymnastics Association of Jammu, presided over the opening ceremony.
The championship is being conducted under the guidance of Rajan Sharma, chairman, activity committee.
