JAMMU, Dec 28: A soulful and inspiring Kavi Sammelan on the theme “Ek Shaam Atal Ji ke Naam” was organized at Atal Ji Park, Gangyal, Jammu, to pay rich literary tribute to Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The programme was attended by J&K BJP president and Member of Parliament Sat Sharma, J&K BJP general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, BJP National secretary Dr Narinder Singh, J&K BJP general secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, and general secretary Sanjita Dogra. The dignitaries addressed the gathering after the Kavi Sammelan.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a rare combination of a great statesman and a sensitive poet. He said Atal Ji’s poetry and political life reflected nationalism, humanity, and deep concern for society. Responding to public demand, he announced that a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be erected in Atal Ji Park.
Ashok Koul, in his address, said that Atal Ji firmly believed in people-centric governance and cultural nationalism. He added that Atal Ji’s life and vision continue to guide the BJP, and programmes like “Ek Shaam Atal Ji ke Naam” are a step towards taking his thoughts and values to the grassroots.
Renowned poets Saravasis Kour Asis, Jagjot Singh Jashan, Ram Krishan, Randhir Raipuria, Dr Baljeet Raina, Suraj Rattan, Star Singh, Ashok Paras, and others enthralled the audience with their powerful and emotionally charged poetic recitations dedicated to Atal Ji’s life, ideals, and legacy.
Later, the poets were felicitated by BJP senior leaders for their outstanding contributions. Other senior BJP leaders present on the occasion included BJP district prabhari Ayodhya Gupta, district president Naresh Singh Jasrotia, Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust president Rajiv Sharma, and Mandal presidents Ajay Pratap Singh and Sohan Singh Katal (Sonu).
