JAMMU, Dec 30: 61st State Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Jammu Kashmir at Kathua, concluded with call for national unity and education reforms.
Talking to media persons, ABVP State Secretary Sannak Shrivats said that the three-day event saw a gathering of over 500 delegates from diverse areas including Poonch, Kishtwar, Kashmir Vibagh, and Leh. The assembly focused on creating a unified vision for education, national security, and the role of youth in social transformation. A significant portion of the conference was dedicated to addressing deep-seated irregularities within the education sector.
The delegates approved major resolutions to eliminate systemic anomalies and ensure a more transparent academic environment. Central to this mission is the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).
Further, national security emerged as a top priority, with the Parishad raising a grave alarm regarding Bangladeshi infiltration and its impact on regional demographics. The conference adopted a key resolution calling for immediate Government intervention to address these disruptions. Specifically, the ABVP demanded the urgent completion of barbed-wire fencing along all unfenced border stretches and advocated for specialized developmental and security planning to protect the interests of those living in border areas.
