POONCH, Dec 30: MLA Haveli, Ajaz Jan, presided over the concluding ceremony of “Play Fest,” a grand sports festival organized by Zia-ul-Uloom Higher Secondary School at Sports Stadium, Poonch. He praised the students and athletes for their dedication and competitive spirit, and lauded efforts of school management, staff and Principal Waheed A. Banday for providing a strong platform to nurture sports talent.
The festival had been inaugurated by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed and Chairman Maulana Sayeed A. Habib. Included others were DySP Headquarters Neeraj Sharma, DySP Operations Azhar Amin, DySP DAR Shashi Kant, Dr Khalil Reshi, Retd. Director Shoket Kazmi, Asad Nomani (Chairman Sarimastan Foundation), Dr Shamim Banday, Mohd Qasim (DYSSO) and Khurshah Shah, who commended the students’ discipline and energy.
The event featured Tug of War, Kabaddi, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton and track events. MLA Ajaz Jan distributed prizes, celebrating the athletes’ achievements and reinforcing Zia-Ul-Uloom’s commitment to holistic education.
