JAMMU, Jan 1: The Confederation of Dalit, OBC, Minorities & Adivasis Organisations, J&K, here today held a meeting to reaffirm its commitment to protect constitutional values and rights of marginalized communities.
On this occasion, R.K Kalsotra, State president of the Confederation released the first issue of ‘Samanta’ magazine, which documents the genesis, achievements, and future endeavours of the Confederation.
He said that ‘Samanta’ serves as a reflective chronicle of Confederation’s journey and a vision document for inclusive social transformation.
The Confederation also passed a resolution expressing concern over the shifting of the photograph of Dr. B.R Ambedkar from Jammu Bar Council premises. The resolution demanded immediate steps to restore it at its original place in the premises of Jammu Bar Council in J&K High Court, Jammu.
A handout stated that the resolution will be forwarded to Chief Justice of India, Chief Justice of J&K High Court, J&K LG and CM for necessary action.
Speakers who addressed the meeting were Tarsem Moolnivasi, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Jameel Kazmi, Balwant Kataria, Kuldeep Singh Giani, Rajinder Kumar, Suraj Parkash, Shashi Sayal, Kuldeep Raj, Darshan Bamotra, Ajay Thapa, Parkash Chand and many others.
