RAJOURI, Jan 7: Security forces today recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from the Dhorimal area of Thannamandi sub-division in Rajouri district, averting a major incident.

A joint team comprising the Army’s Romeo Force, Police, Special Operations Group (SOG), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been conducting sustained search and area domination operations in the forest belts of Thannamandi for the past several days. During the operation, the joint team detected a terror hideout in the dense forest area of Dhorimal, where the IED was found.
Following standard operating procedures, the IED was safely defused through a controlled explosion, ensuring no loss of life or damage to property.
