SRINAGAR, Jan 10: Police in Srinagar today found several hotels, homestays and guest houses operating without valid registration during a verification drive, leading to the imposition of fines on the violators.

According to authorities, the police, in coordination with the Tourist Police Station Srinagar, conducted inspection and verification drives across the city to ensure compliance with statutory norms by hotels, homestays and guest houses.
“During the drive, several establishments were found operating without valid registration from the competent authorities,” police said.
The unregistered establishments included hotels Essar, ABC Residency, Gani and Aksa, and homestays Al Habib, Golden Moon and Divine Holiday.
Authorities said fines were imposed on the violators for operating without mandatory registration. They added that preventive action under Sections 126/170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) shall also be initiated against the owners of all such unregistered establishments.
