Janta Sports CC enters semis with 48-run win

JAMMU, Jan 14: Janta Sports Cricket Club registered a convincing 48-run victory over Youth Cricket Club in the first quarterfinal of the Rajinder Saini & Sandeep Singh Memorial Under-16 T-30 Cricket Tournament, played at Parade Ground, here, today.
After winning the toss, Janta Sports opted to bat first and posted a strong total of 200 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 25 overs. Japjaap Singh led the batting charge with a splendid knock of 57 runs, studded with 11 boundaries. Arslan Rashi contributed a fluent 54 runs, hitting one six and nine boundaries, while Hashim Gulzar added a valuable 38 runs with nine boundaries.
For Youth Cricket Club, Lakshya Bhatia emerged as the most successful bowler, claiming three wickets. Arafat picked up two wickets, while Bishu Kumar, Arav Sharma and Saksh shared one wicket each.
In reply, Youth Cricket Club was bowled out for 152 runs in 23 overs. Saksh top-scored with 30 runs, followed by Danish Mir, who chipped in with 23 runs. Zeeshan Shamim of Janta Sports delivered an impressive bowling spell, taking four wickets for 30 runs. Hashim Gulzar of Janta Sports was adjudged Player of the Match for his all-round performance of 38 runs and two wickets.
