Srinagar tennis player selected for Asian Junior Soft Tennis C’ship

Srinagar, Jan 14: Young soft tennis player Mohammad Qais from J&K has been selected to represent India at the 2nd Asian Junior Soft Tennis Championship 2026, scheduled to be held next month.
Qais earned his place in the national squad after clearing selection trials conducted in Jammu and Ahmedabad, with his final selection confirmed following a training-cum-assessment camp.
The Asian Junior Soft Tennis Championship 2026 will be held at the Harvest Tennis Academy in Punjab from February 3 to February 8, 2026.
The player has an impressive domestic record. He is a three-time gold medallist at the District Srinagar level and has also secured three gold medals at the Union Territory level.
Qais has previously represented J&K at national-level competitions.
He is expected to begin focused preparations for the upcoming championship, where he will compete against leading junior players from across Asia.
Qais’s selection has been described as a significant achievement for J&K, with observers noting that representing the country at the international level at a young age reflects his consistent performance and strong potential.
