RAMBAN, Jan 16: To curb drug-related activities, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ramban, Kuldeep Singh has ordered immediate disqualification of Driving Licenses (DLs) of three individuals for a period of three months in connection with cases registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
As per official orders issued by the ARTO, Driving Licenses of Mohd Iqbal, son of Irshad Ahmed, resident of Gujjam Deddha, Gool; Shoib Majid, son of Abdul Majid, resident of Gool Dalwah and Nittu Singh, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Bodhi Dhandrath, Ramban, were disqualified for three months with immediate effect.
Similarly, the ARTO Ramban has also suspended the Registration Certificates (RCs) of seven vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19A-1502, JK19-8185, JK19A-3946, JK19A-0435, JK19-3900, JK19-3565 and JK19-7667 for three months.
In addition, the Route Permit and Registration Certificate of one taxi cab (JK19A-5655) and one truck (JK19-4106) have also been suspended, and the Police Department has been directed to seize the vehicles.
The action was taken in compliance with the directions of the Transport Commissioner’s Office, based on reports received from the IGP Crime Branch, J&K, regarding the involvement of the concerned individuals in NDPS-related activities.
The vehicle owners were directed to submit their Route Permits and RCs at the ARTO Office, Ramban, with immediate effect.
