Muneer wins silver medal at National Canoe Slalom C’ship

SRINAGAR, Jan 17: Jammu & Kashmir’s young Canoe Slalom athlete Muneer Hussain brought laurels to the Union Territory by winning a silver medal in the Kayak Cross event at the recently concluded National Championship held at Maheshwar, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).
The Jammu & Kashmir Water Sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association congratulated Muneer for his remarkable achievement in the Wild Water discipline. Competing against athletes from states with superior infrastructure and facilities, Muneer delivered an outstanding performance, marking a significant milestone for Jammu & Kashmir in Wild Water Canoe Slalom events.
Expressing his happiness, Muneer said that the achievement was the result of consistent hard work and professional training under the guidance of his coach Bilquis Mir. He described winning a silver medal at the national level as a dream come true.
The Association expressed hope that this success will help Muneer scale greater heights at national and international levels and inspire young athletes from the region to pursue water sports seriously.
