KISHTWAR, Jan 17: A motorcyclist was killed and four others injured today in three separate road accidents occurred in different parts of the district.
In the first incident, a motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and plunged into a deep gorge near Dungduru, leading to his on-the-spot death. The deceased was identified as Abdul Majeed, son of Sarnu Gujar, a resident of Shanna Thakrai.
In another accident at the under-construction Kiru Hydroelectric Project site, a dumper bearing registration number JK17A-4402 met with an accident, injuring two persons travelling in the vehicle. Both were shifted to the District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment.
One of the injured, identified as Mohammed Ismayal, son of Noor Mohammed of Rashgwadi, was later referred to Government Medical College, Jammu, due to the seriousness of his condition. The other injured was identified as Bilal Ahmed, the driver of the vehicle, son of Ghulam Hassan, also a resident of Rashgwadi, Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, a third accident occurred on the Kijai Bridge along the Padder-Kishtwar road, where another dumper (JK17A-9509) overturned, reportedly causing damage to the bridge. Two persons travelling in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Police have taken cognizance of all the incidents.
