JAMMU, Jan 17: Jammu and Kashmir Displaced Pandit Front (JKDPF) has expressed its dismay over the failure of the Government in addressing the long standing issues of displaced Pandits from the Valley.
The Front in a meeting held here, today under the leadership of its president, Vinod Pandita said that both Central and State Governments seem unconcerned over the permanent rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in their homeland and demanded immediate steps needed to be taken for the permanent rehabilitation of displaced people in Valley in accordance to their geo-political aspirations.
The meeting also demanded a job package for unemployed youth of the community saying that after 2008 no employment package was announced for the community youth. The meeting demanded immediate restoration of migrants agriculture land which has been forcibly occupied by miscreants during last over 30 years of turmoil.
The meeting stressed on enhancement of cash relief to Rs 25000 per family, soft loans for over aged youth to start their business under various government schemes, benefit of Government schemes be extended to migrants, displaced Pandits putting up at Jammu be permitted to cast their vote in Municipal elections and allotment of quarters to PM package employees in Valley immediately. The meeting also demanded the nomination of two MLAs to UT Assembly as has been proposed by Government earlier, besides representation to the community in Parliament.
The meeting was also addressed by Vishal Jyotshi who urged the Government to take immediate steps in redressing the genuine demands of the displaced people.
