JAMMU, Jan 18: The J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) will organized the 28th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2025-26, scheduled to take place from January 19 to 22, at the Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The event will be held under the esteemed initiative “My Youth My Pride” and is supported by the Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
The Championship is open to athletes in four categories: Sub-Junior (8-11 years), Cadet (12-14 years), Junior (15-17 years) and Senior (above 17 years). Participants must have competed in their respective District Taekwondo Championships 2025-26 to be eligible. Only two athletes from each district in each category will be allowed to compete.
In terms of eligibility, athletes must hold specific belts as outlined by the JKTA and TFI guidelines. For example, Sub-Junior athletes must have at least a JKTA Green Belt, while senior competitors should have at least a Kukkiwon 1st Dan.
Registration for the event will close at 6:00 pm on January 19, 2026, with weigh-ins scheduled for the same day at 3:00 pm. Mandatory documents for registration include a completed form, Aadhaar card, Date of Birth certificate, belt certificate, JKTA license and District Championship certificate.
