Speaking to media persons here, NC State spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said the Budget is being prepared in the interest of the people and is the outcome of wide-ranging consultations.
He said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been holding meetings with various stakeholders, including representatives from trade, business, and other sectors, to gather feedback.
“The Chief Minister has taken inputs from all stakeholders, and these will be reflected in the forthcoming Budget,” he said.
He noted the consultations on Budget “is a clear example of participatory democracy,” and said that it (Budget) “will be good news for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He added that Members of the Legislative Assembly are also meeting the Chief Minister to raise issues related to development and other areas that require attention.
“Some MLAs met the Chief Minister yesterday, and more are meeting him today,” he said.
Dar said the issue of regularisation of daily wagers in J&K was discussed during a recent Cabinet meeting, describing it as a matter of serious concern that would be addressed.
“The Deputy Chief Minister has already stated that the Government intends to resolve the genuine issues of daily wagers. The Chief Minister has constituted a committee to prepare a report on their regularisation, which should have been completed by now,” he said.
Stressing the need to reassure daily wagers, Dar said the Government remains committed to addressing their concerns and expressed hope that the upcoming Budget would provide relief to them.
