JAMMU, Jan 27: MLA Bahu constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today inaugurated the construction of an Aspirational Toilet Block at Satwari Chowk under the Jammu Cantonment Board, aimed at strengthening public sanitation and hygiene facilities.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of JMC Commissioner, Devyansh Yadav and Ramsawroop Haritwal, IDES (CEO, Cantonment Board Jammu).
Prominent party leaders and local dignitaries present on the occasion included district president, Naresh Singh, district general secretary, Kulveer Singh Charak, and Mandal presidents, Rahul Kumar, Sahil Mahajan, and Surjeet Singh, along with other party workers and shopkeepers of Satwari market.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Randhawa said that providing clean, modern, and accessible sanitation facilities is a basic necessity for a dignified life. He emphasized that the aspirational toilet block at Satwari Chowk will greatly benefit commuters, shoppers, and traders of the market. The MLA further stated that his priority remains focused on strengthening civic infrastructure and ensuring better public amenities across the Bahu constituency in coordination with concerned departments.
The MLA also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Jammu Cantonment Board and its officials for timely execution of the project and for their continued contribution towards improving civic amenities in the cantonment area.
He also appealed to the general public to maintain cleanliness and make responsible use of the facility, stressing that public cooperation is essential for the success and sustainability of such welfare initiatives.
The shopkeepers and traders of Satwari Market complimented Ch. Vikram Randhawa for addressing a long-pending demand of the market. They stated that the initiative will significantly enhance hygiene and convenience in the market area and strongly supports the vision of Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat.
