Sharda University honours 150 teachers with Transformational Teacher Awards

GREATER NOIDA, Jan 31: Sharda University today organized the 7th edition of the Transformational Teacher Award 2026, honouring nearly 150 teachers from across the country for their outstanding contribution to the field of education.
A statement said the awards recognised educators who have played a key role in shaping the academic growth and personal development of students.
Teachers were nominated by students from different parts of India in recognition of their dedication and influence.
Principals who have made notable contributions in their respective fields were also honoured during the programme.
The event was graced by Director, India Habitat Centre, Prof (Dr) K G Suresh as the Chief Guest.
He was welcomed by Chancellor PK Gupta and Director–Admissions Dr Rajeev Gupta, who presented him with a memento.
Addressing the gathering, Chancellor PK Gupta said teachers play a crucial role in building careers and character. He said good teachers guide students to become responsible citizens and better human beings and leave a lasting impression on their lives.
He also suggested that education boards should introduce student feedback portals to help teachers understand learners better.
Emphasising individual abilities, he said teachers must identify students’ talents and guide them towards suitable career paths.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof (Dr) KG Suresh highlighted that the role of teachers today goes beyond academics. He said educators play an important role in supporting students’ mental health, emotional strength and overall well-being, especially in challenging times.
He added that initiatives like the Transformational Teacher Award help recognise teachers who make a holistic impact on students’ lives.
Director–Admissions Dr Rajeev Gupta said the award honours teachers who have made a lasting difference in the lives of students through their commitment and dedication to the profession.
The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Dr Sibaram Khara, Director PR Dr Ajit Kumar, Dr Harishankar Shyam, Reema, Alok Ahteshyam, along with deans, heads of departments and senior faculty members of the university.
