Kishtwar, Feb 4: A terrorist was killed in an ongoing encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Bichaar area of Chhatroo in Kishtwar district on Wednesday, officials said.
Official sources said that the exchange of fire erupted during a search operation launched by security forces following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
“They said one terrorist has been neutralised so far, and additional forces have been rushed to the spot to strengthen the cordon. The operation is still underway,” the sources added.
Earlier, security forces had neutralised two terrorists in a separate encounter in Udhampur district. (KNC)
