JAMMU, Feb 9: A meeting of prominent Kashmiri displaced Pandits comprising of socio- political activists and intellectuals was held today, here at Press Club for discussing and deliberating upon the most crucial issues and problems being faced by the community living in exile for last over 35 years viz NAFSA form, over all Amnesty for migrants and other problems being faced by the community.
The meeting was organized by senior leader of the community M.K.Yogi and Vinod Pandita, a social activist presided over the meeting.
Vinod Pandita , while addressing the meeting highlighted the problems like return and rehabilitation issues, special recruitment drive for unemployed youth in different departments, implementation of Migrant Immovable Property Act 1997 in letter and spirit and fast track disposal of migrant grievances in Relief Organisation .
M.K.Yogi highlighted in depth the plight of Kashmiri displaced Pandits and demanded amnesty, NAFSA form relaxation, better facilities of pure drinking water, repair and renovation of migrant quarters in all the camps who are in dilapidated condition. Yogi appealed Government of J&K to frame an Apex Committee of KPs comprising of real socio political activist from camps and non camps as well head of socio political organizations.
M.L. Malla a senior KP leader highlighted the pertinent problems of the community and urged both UT and Central Governments to address the core issues the community. He also expressed grave concern that no concrete policy was revealed in JK Budget for the dignified rehabilitation of exiled Pandits.
M.K.Bangroo a senior journalist and Prof B .L .Zutishi president HESK also addressed the assembly and appealed the community activists and leaders to work unitedly so that their problems are addressed at the earliest.
Kuldeep Kashmiri another social activist while highlighted the crucial issues of the community like NAFSA form, bifurcation issues and urged the concerned department to streamline the working of the organization for fast disposal of the migrant grievances.
Other prominent members who spoke on the occasion were Mohan Lal Comrade , Nazir Ahmed, Sunil Bhat, Harmohinder Singh, Ravinder Kumar Bakshi, Dr.Romesh Bhat, Dr.T.K.Bhat, P.K.Raina, Raju Sehgal, Nana Ji Wattal, Sunderi Lal Koul, Ravinder Koul, Ashok Kumar Dhar, Abhay Bakaya, Anu Ji Koul J.L.Pandita, P.K.Raina, M.K.Koul, Navin Bushan Handoo, Rakesh Koul and others.
