JAMMU, Feb 9: For providing greater convenience to passengers, Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has announced extension of the service of special train between Budgam and Banihal up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station from February 11.

According to the announcement, Special Train No. 04688 will run from Budgam to Banihal as per the existing schedule. From Banihal, the train will depart at 10:10 AM and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:00 PM, halting at Khari, Sumber, Sangaldan, Sawalkot, Dugga, Bakkal, and Reasi stations.
For the return journey, Special Train No. 04687 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:45 PM, arriving at Banihal at 5:30 PM. The onward journey from Banihal to Budgam will follow the current timetable.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the extension aims to facilitate the movement of local passengers and tourists while enhancing Kashmir’s rail connectivity.
