DODA, Feb 10: Police here today arrested a person for disrespecting the National Flag.
Police took cognisance after a video went viral on social media in which Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohd Ramzan Banday, resident of Nagri, Doda, was allegedly seen disrespecting the National Flag.
Police sources informed that the act prima facie amounts to an offence under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act, 1971, which strictly prohibits any act that disrespects the dignity of the National Flag.
Taking serious note of the matter and on the directions of SSP Doda, a case in FIR No. 30/2026 was registered at Police Station Doda and the accused was detained and investigation into the matter was started.
