Omar’s conduct in Assembly is unfortunate: Jasrotia

JAMMU, Feb 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, launched a scathing attack on the Omar Abdullah-led Government, accusing it of deliberately lowering the dignity of the Legislative Assembly, and misleading the people through unfulfilled manifesto promises, across the Union Territory.
J&K BJP spokespersons, Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, and Dr. Tahir Chowdhary, accompanied by Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, while addressing a press conference at party Headquarters, here, today strongly condemned the recent ruckus and repeated disruptions in the J&K Assembly.
Dr. Jasrotia alleged that the chaos was not incidental but “carefully engineered” to divert public attention from governance failures.
Dr. Jasrotia described the Chief Minister’s conduct as “unfortunate, highly condemnable, and unbecoming of the dignity of the office.” He alleged that the use of objectionable language and repeated disruptions appear to be an attempt to divert public attention from the pressing issues faced by the people of J&K.
He emphasized that the J&K Assembly is among the most closely watched legislative institutions in the country and beyond, representing every section of the region’s population. “The Chief Minister must understand that his words and actions directly affect the credibility and dignity of the high office he holds. He should immediately restore decorum, exercise restraint, and act responsibly,” Dr. Jasrotia said.
