JAMMU, Feb 13 : JKPCC president, Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith AICC secretary, Pargat Singh (MLA Punjab) today took stock of the organizational preparedness for the `Lok Bhawan Chalo’ march in Jammu tomorrow by the party.
The march shall start at round 11.30 am from Maharaja Hari Singh Park which shall be led by AICC general secretary incharge J&K affairs, Dr Sayeed Naseer Hussain and PCC president , Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith senior leaders of the party including AICC general secretary and CLP Leader GA Mir , working presidents Raman Bhalla, DCC presidents, MLAs, Ex- ministers, Ex- Legislators and frontal heads of the party.
The grand procession is being taken out as part of nationwide campaign of Congress party-
“MGNREGA Bachao Sangram” and `Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq’ movement of the Congress party for the restoration of statehood to J&K.
All senior leaders of party including MLAs, former ministers, legislators, PCC, DCC and frontal wings shall take part in the march which shall pass through main bazar of Jammu city before culmination at Punjtirthi near Lok Bhawan.
In today’s meeting, the senior leaders discussed the involvement of like minded organizations who support the issues raised by the party in the larger interest of people like MGNREGA Bachao and restoration of statehood.
PCC chief appealed to the like minded forces and individuals to support and join the Congress struggle for safeguarding the rights of poor, labour, and farmers besides other common people besides securing the status of statehood.
He said statehood is constitutional right of people of J&K and was promised more than six and half year ago. It is betrayal of BJP led Centre Government with the 1.40 cr population of Jammu and Kashmir.
AICC secretary Pargat Singh appreciated the Congress leaders and workers for successfully carrying out MGNREGA Bachao Sangram in all nook and corner of J&K for the last over one month, which shall be carried further as per AICC schedule . He said that there is tremendous support to the MGNREGA Bachao Sangram of Congress party in the country as it is the fight to safeguard the rights of poor and labour class in rural areas.
Working president Raman Bhalla, former ministers- Mula Ram Bhagat & Yogesh Sawhney; Neeraj Kundan (DCC chief) and other senior leaders briefed the meeting about the preparation for the march tomorrow.
Prominent among others present included- Jugal Kishore Sharma , TS Bahwa, Ved Mahajan, Subash Gupta, Vinod Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Amrit Bali, Satish Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Indrjeet Kour, Gurdarshan Singh, Dwarka Choudhary, Rajvir Singh, Pawan Bhagat, Sandeep Dogra, Iqbal Dar, Ajay Lakhora and others.
