SAMBA, Feb 13: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Samba and recovered approximately 5.48 grams of heroin-like substance (chitta) from his possession.
A police spokesman said on the basis of information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station, Samba laid a special naka near Shamshan Ghat, Bhargva College Samba and intercepted a Scooty bearing Registration Number JK21F-1891 which was coming from Vijaypur side and moving towards Samba. During checking, approximately 5.48 grams of heroin- was recovered from the possession of the rider, he added.
Spokesman said the drug peddler identified as Abhishek Attri, son of Dayal Prashad of Samba has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The scooty has also been seized in the instant case.
A case FIR No. 41/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
