Regularize DWs, contractual staff: Dr Bhardwaj

Excelsior Correspondent
Jammu, Feb 13: The Govt today informed about the constitution of a high-level committee to examine issues related to the regularization of daily wagers, contractual and adhoc employees working across various departments.
The information was disclosed by the Government in response to an Un-starred Assembly Question tabled by MLA Dr Sunil Bhardwaj.
The Government stated that the committee was constituted vide Government Order No. 384-JK (GAD) of 2025 dated March 19, 2025.
According to the official reply, the panel has been tasked with assessing the matter from humanitarian, legal, and financial perspectives. It will recommend a comprehensive roadmap regarding the regularization of different categories of employees.
However, reacting to the development, the MLA expressed concern over the government’s intent.
He stated that the absence of any budgetary allocation for regularization indicates that the administration may not be serious about addressing the long-pending demands of these employees.
Bhardwaj further pointed out that no specific timeline has been provided for implementing any regularization policy, leaving thousands of workers in uncertainty despite years of service.
He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party will continue to raise the issue both inside and outside the Assembly and will press the Government to take an early decision in favour of regularizing these employees.
