SAMBA, Feb 15: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba police has arrested three drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur and recovered approximately 7.85 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police team of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur during vehicle checking naka at Tarapur near Shamshan Ghat, Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, intercepted a car bearing Registration Number, JK09D-2038 (Baleno) for its checking. During checking, approximately 7.85 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of three persons travelling in the car.
The drug peddlers identified as Shahid Shafiq, son of Shafiq Ahmed of Kupwara , Tangdar Younis Rafiq, son of Mohd Rafiq of Rawalpura, Gulzar Pura, district Srinagar and Kamran Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmed of Gulshan Nagar, Nowgam, district Srinagar have been arrested. The contraband item along with vehicle has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 26/2026 under relevant Sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
The arrests was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
