JAMMU, Feb 16: At least three juveniles, including Pakistani nationals, escaped from an observation home in the RS Pura area on Monday evening after allegedly opening fire at police personnel inside the premises.
The incident took place around 5:30 PM, police sources said.
The juveniles reportedly managed to flee after firing at one of the police personnel.
However, it was not immediately clear how they procured the weapon inside the observation home or whether anyone was injured or killed in the firing.
Senior police officers rushed to the spot soon after the incident and launched a search operation to trace the absconding juveniles.
Efforts are underway to apprehend them and lodge them back in the observation home. Further details are awaited.
