“Bait-Ul-Ankaboot,” a poetic collection released at JU

Jammu, Feb 16: “Bait-Ul-Ankaboot,” a poetic collection of reputed Urdu poet Ayaz Rasool Nazki, was today released by M.Y. Tarigami, MLA Kulgam, in a simple yet impressive function organized by the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, at the Prof. Gian Chand Jain Seminar Hall. The book release function was attended by a large number of poets, scholars, civil society members, and students. The function was presided over by noted Urdu critic Prof. Qudose Javed, while eminent Punjabi short story writer Khalid Hussain graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Head, Department of Urdu, also graced the presidium and presented the welcome address.
Speaking on the occasion, M.Y. Tarigami spoke at length about the contribution of Kashmiri language and culture, which has a history spanning over 5,000 years. He noted that the Nazki family has made significant contributions to the development of both Kashmiri and Urdu languages. He recalled that Mr. Ghulam Rasool Nazki was a towering figure in Urdu and Kashmiri poetry, and similarly, Farooq Nazki has also published several important poetry collections. Describing Ayaz Rasool Nazki as his close friend, Tarigami praised his Urdu poetry for its depth and its reflection of the realities of life.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik spoke in detail about the rich contribution of Ayaz Rasool Nazki to Urdu language and literature and informed that he has published five collections of Urdu poetry so far. Mr. Vijay Dhar, a Research Scholar of the Department of Urdu, presented a detailed paper on the book. The paper was thoughtfully written and was appreciated by all present.
Khalid Hussain and Mohd. Amin Bhat also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the literary merit of the book, while Prof. Qudose Javed delivered a detailed presidential address, appreciating the intellectual depth and emotional richness reflected in the poetry of Ayaz Rasool Nazki.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Abdul Rashid Manhas, who also conducted the proceedings of the programme.
