JAMMU, Feb 16: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu commenced the second edition of the Leadership Development Program (LDP) for Young Managers (Batch-II).
The inaugural session witnessed the participation of 35 officials from Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), marking the beginning of a transformative one-year journey of leadership excellence and organizational impact.
Prof Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, presided over the inaugural ceremony, which was also graced by Prof Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, Program Directors, Prof P P Maheshwari; Dr Manu Bansal and Dr Malaya Ranjan Mohapatra, IIM Jammu.
Dr Atanu Mukherjee, General Manager Academic, Central HRD & Senior Faculty, Management Training Institute (MTI) SAIL, along with officials from SAIL, joined through online mode.
The inaugural session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Manu Bansal, Program Director. The training program is being coordinated by IIM Jammu Executive Education and Consultancy.
Meanwhile, IIM Jammu also inaugurated 16th batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Initiative, Ministry of Education, Govt of India.

Prof Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, described the programme as a bidirectional learning platform and highlighted that IIM Jammu is conducting the maximum number of batches under the initiative. He noted that the programme offers an opportunity to re-experience the learner’s role, strengthen critical reflection, and benefit from cross-learning and multidisciplinary engagement. He encouraged participants to view the programme as the beginning of a long-term academic association, fostering continued collaboration and peer learning beyond the five-day engagement.
Dr V Raj Kumar, Program Director, IIM Jammu described the programme as a leadership-centric initiative aimed at strengthening critical thinking, expanding intellectual horizons, and nurturing reflective academic leadership. Dr Shivani Sachdev, Program Director, IIM Jammu, delivered the formal vote of thanks.
