UDHAMPUR, Feb 16: A grand event under the “Football for Schools” initiative was organized today at PM Shri School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Rakh Jaganu, Udhampur, aimed at promoting physical education and sportsmanship. CEO Udhampur, Subhash Gupta, was the chief guest.
The programme began with a welcome address by Principal Rakesh Jaiswal, who highlighted the importance of integrating sports with education. Students presented a spectacular yoga session, showcasing focus, discipline, and fitness.
A major milestone was achieved with the distribution of 838 footballs to 156 schools, with 30 prominent schools from the district invited for the occasion. Subhash Gupta encouraged students and teachers, emphasizing that sports build leadership, teamwork, and discipline. He appreciated the large-scale football distribution as a boost to grassroots sports culture in schools.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shilpa (PGT Biology), expressing gratitude to the chief guest, participating schools, and the organizing team for making the programme a success.
