JAMMU, Feb 17: Rare and historically significant manuscripts’ ‘Kalhana Rajtarangani’, from the collection of Amar Santosh Museum, Udhampur, are currently being showcased at the prestigious India-AI Impact Summit 2026, inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The manuscripts are being displayed under the banner of Gyan Bharatam through its Cluster Centre and Shashwat Art Gallery, Jammu. The exhibition will continue till 20th February 2026.
The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 witnessing the participation of eminent scholars, policymakers, technologists, and distinguished delegates from India and abroad. The summit highlights the integration of Artificial Intelligence with India’s rich cultural and manuscript heritage.
A major attraction at the event has been the live demonstrations of Advanced Manuscripts Character Recognition (OCR), detailed colophon reading, multilingual translation and transliteration tools, and an interactive AI-powered “Chaynit” system. These advanced technological interventions have transformed centuries-old handwritten manuscripts into accessible, dynamic, and living digital knowledge resources.
The digitization and AI-enabled interpretation of rare manuscripts from Jammu have opened new avenues for wider public engagement, academic research, and global outreach. The initiative reflects a significant step toward preserving India’s intellectual heritage while making it relevant in the digital age.
Anil Paba, Director of Amar Santosh Museum, Udhampur, expressed his gratitude to Director Inderjeet Singh, Project Director Prof Anirban Desh of Gyan Bharatam, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and Dr Suresh Abrol, Coordinator , Regional cluster Centre, Gyan Bhartam, Jammu, for providing an international platform to showcase the rich manuscript heritage of Jammu.
