“Unfortunately, they have deceived thousands of educated youth of J&K as they have sold out over 24000 Govt jobs. Nobody knows how these posts were filled up? What was the criteria? Who were the middle-men?”
Sharma further added that no legal criteria was adopted or transparency maintained for filling up these outsourced vacancies. All these posts were filled up out of the purview of the JKSSB or JKPSC which is great disappointing matter for lakhs of J&K youth.
The LoP said PM Modi gave safe and secure atmosphere to the people in the Jammu and Kashmir with his efforts, the NC Govt should at least provide jobs to the educated youth here.
Referring to the hue and cry raised by some of the members from the Treasury benches that mostly people from one community consume much liquor, the BJP leader said that as per data collected from the Excise Department, this year Srinagar district topped in the liquor consumption or you can say, in revenue generation from the liquor sale. He said as compared to the revenue of Rs 54 crores last year, Srinagar recorded a revenue generation of Rs 65 crore. These arguments irked some Members from Kashmir Valley, who tried to disrupt the BJP Member.
On the issue of land grabbing incidents and demolition drives, the LoP said some members tried to play politics, projecting Muslims as the victims as their structures were being demolished in Jammu. He said the case was different. Quoting figures, the LoP said out of the 1425 demolition drives against land grabbing, 1014 pertain to Kashmir Valley. It means majority of the land grabbing incidents took place in the Valley and it all happened on the instructions of the local administration. Out of the total, in Jammu only 162 residential and 75 commercial structures were demolished. This led to a tiff between the PDP MLA Waheed Parra, Fayaz, Sheikh Khursheed and the LoP. However, the Speaker intervened and asked the BJP member to complete his address.
Referring to the Power Sector, Sunil Sharma said that no reforms in this sector have been witnessed after this Government took over in J&K. The power purchase bill is increasing every year but the revenue realized is going down. During Budget speech, power bill was projected at Rs 9000 crores, some senior PDD officials are expecting a revenue of Rs 5000 crores. Even then there is deficit of Rs 4000 crores. There was a promise of 200 units free electricity to the poor people, which however, turned ‘Hawa Hawai’. This all shows the grim picture of the Power sector, the BJP leader said.
He recalled how, Omar Abdullah had once opposed installation of Smart Meters in Kashmir, and said at that time hardly 23000 such meters had been installed. Now, the current figures show that over 7 lakh Smart Meters stand installed in the Jammu and Kashmir and the work is being carried out smoothly with the commitment and vision of Modi Govt.
While making a sarcastic remarks against Congress Party, LoP said CM is holding so many departments and being too much busy, he is perhaps not able to do justice and even take review of most of the departments. “It is my suggestion to the Chief Minister to provide at least three vacant positions in his Ministry to the Congress MLAs, so that the Government runs smoothly and `their alliance’ as well.
On massive traffic jams in Jammu city. LoP suggested that more and more parking spaces are needed to be created within Mohallas involving private parties who have vacant plots. Many people park their vehicles on roads and in the lanes. The lanes are choked and people are facing lot of hardships. This issue is needed to be urgently tackled, Sharma added.
The LoP strong projected the issue of daily wagers and said that CM should shun his arrogance stance. advocated for the opening of National Law University in Jammu.
Earlier, Congress MLA from Rajouri, Iftikhar Ahmed demanded to fill up all the vacant posts in various departments on fast track basis to tackle issue of unemployment. District level recruitment should also be started. He said there should be only one fee for 3-4 posts, if a youth applies in JKSSB or PSC. The MLA also demanded to enact recruitment rules for the new GMCs which are pending since long. He also demanded promotion of tourism in Rajouri district and filling up of the post of EO in the local Municipality.
