JAMMU, Feb 19: Police today claimed to have arrested an alleged drug peddler from Punjab in Sainik Colony area here, recovering 150 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession worth Rs 55 lakh.
During routine vehicle checking on the National Highway, near Jodhamal School, a team of Police Post Sainik Colony led by incharge Police Post concern, PSI Maan Singh, with support from SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Mustaj Choudhary, arrested one Har Dayal Singh of Raipur Kalan, Amritsar, Punjab with the contraband and the cash, a police official said.
According to him, the accused individual has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 51/2026 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and further investigation taken up.
The entire operation was monitored by SDPO City East, SP South Ajay Sharma, under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh.
