AKHNOOR, Feb 19: Senior BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member, Pandit Suresh Sharma here today inaugurated three newly constructed waiting halls in Block Maira Mandrain, built at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh.
The facilities have been developed at Baba Kali Veer Devsthan, Maira Mandrain, Kaalka Mata Temple, Maira and Kai Raja Devsthan, Maira.
These waiting halls were a long-pending demand of the local residents and devotees and their completion has brought great relief and convenience to the public. Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Sharma said that Block Maira Mandrain and Chowki Choura are home to several historic and ancient religious shrines.
“Over the past five years, consistent efforts have been made to undertake development works at these sacred places while keeping the needs of devotees and villagers in mind,” the DDC Member said.
He added that various initiatives such as construction of waiting halls, platforms, installation of beautification lighting and improvement of basic facilities have been carried out and similar development works will continue in the coming time to preserve and promote these heritage religious places.
Among those present on the occasion were Captain Naseeb Singh, Geeta Ram Purohit, Dr. Ramlal, Master Chanchal Singh, Mangi Purohit, Ashok Sharma, Balwant Singh, Vijay Singh, Shamshar Singh, Pawan Shastri, Vijay Mistri, Sikandar Lal, Bittu Mistri, Pawan Singh, Puran Singh, Titru Ram, Jameet Raj, Sanjay Kumar, Jyoti Prakash, Mohan Lal, officials of the concerned department and others.
