CIPEx-2026 FDP concludes at University of Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 20: The Department of Physics, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, successfully concluded a one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Computer-Interfaced Physics Experiments (CIPEx-2026)” with a valedictory function in the department.
The programme was organized in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on experiential learning, multidisciplinary integration, skill enhancement and the effective use of technology in higher education. It also highlighted the promotion of computer-interfaced experiments and digital laboratory technologies, including the indigenously developed, low-cost SEELAB 3.0 device aimed at strengthening innovation-oriented laboratory practices.
Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof Meena Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion, underscored the growing importance of computer-based learning, academic innovation and the integration of modern technology in teaching and research.
Earlier, Head of the Department and FDP convener, Prof KK Bamzai presented an overview of the five-day event, which was attended by faculty members of Physics and Electronics from various colleges and universities of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
FDP coordinator Prof Ramni Gupta presented a detailed report on the objectives, outcomes and range of experiments conducted during the programme. She noted that expert lectures, interactive sessions and hands-on training significantly enriched the academic outlook of the participants.
The resource persons included Prof OSKS Sastri from Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dr Jithin Bhagavathi of CSpark Research, VVV Satyanarayana from IUAC, New Delhi, and faculty members from the University of Jammu.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by co-coordinator Dr Narinder Kumar, who acknowledged the contributions of all stakeholders. The valedictory function was attended by faculty members, non-teaching staff, researchers, students and FDP participants.
