DODA, Feb 20: Police here today arrested a man involved in the rape of a minor girl.
Yesterday Police Station Doda received a written complaint from one Ravinder Ray, resident of Goriyar Purab, Adivasi Rupauli (Bihar), alleging that his 16-year-old daughter was forcefully raped by one Umesh Singh, son of Suresh Pasi, resident of Maurawan, Unnao, Uttar Pradesh at his rented accommodation in New Bus stand, Doda.
Accordingly, FIR No. 36/2026 was registered under Section 64 of BNS and Sections 3/4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Police Station, Doda.
Acting swiftly, Doda Police apprehended the accused, Umesh Singh within hours of the registration of the case. He was taken into custody and further investigation was underway.
