TMM on ‘Science and Bharat’ held at CUJ

JAMMU, Feb 20: Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, the Department of Environmental Sciences at Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organized a ‘Thursday Mind Meet (TMM)’ on the theme ‘Science and Bharat: Vision with Sustainable Environment’.
The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Deepak Pathania.
The concept of TMM was introduced by the Convener, Prof. Vandana Sharma, Dean School of Languages, who highlighted the importance of policy planning and academic collaboration in promoting environmentally responsible growth.
Dr. Vasudha, Guest Faculty coordinated the proceedings. The panel included eminent panellists Prof. Ashutosh Vashishtha (Dean, Faculty of Management) and Dr. Vineet V. Tyagi (Associate Professor, Department of Physics) from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra.
Ph.D Scholars Zaheer and Harsha along with Akshay from M.Sc Semester IV and Sanya from B.Sc Semester IV participated as panellists.
Student panellists presented perspectives on India’s long-term development vision.
Eminent guest panellists Dr. Tyagi focused on the critical link between energy and the environment.
Prof. Vashishtha expressed his views on sustainable economic growth along with climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Sunil Dhar, Dean, SLS stressed upon the need to balance economic progress with ecological conservation to ensure long-term sustainability.
Dr. Shweta Yadav, Associate Prof. presented a formal vote of thanks.
