Traffic Police challan 214 vehicles

UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: During the two-day special drive across TSD Udhampur and Reasi, traffic police challaned 214 vehicles for various violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, and realized a fine of Rs 30,500 through the E-Challan system.
Six vehicles were also seized on the spot for plying without valid documents or driving licences. The enforcement was carried out by special teams led by DTI Vinay Gupta and Navneet Verma under the supervision of senior traffic police officers. Multiple naka points were established across different locations as part of the intensive checking drive.
According to the DySP Traffic Udhampur, major violations included 50 challans for riding without crash helmets, 13 for triple riding, two for driving without a valid licence, and 28 for overloading, among others.
