UDHAMPUR, Feb 23: A five-day multimedia exhibition on various Central Government schemes began at Government Degree College (GDC) here today under the aegis of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC).
The inaugural ceremony was graced by MLA, Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta, as the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said the multimedia exhibition focuses on Startup India and Mission Aroma.
He lauded the CBC for setting up the exhibition for the benefit of the people.
Gupta said the youth must change their mindset, and they should no longer rely solely on the limited pool of Government jobs.
Instead, he said, they must transform into “job givers” by launching their own ventures.
MLA Udhampur West further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government has come to people’s doorsteps to create an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Earlier, the MLA inspected departmental stalls representing ICDS, Rural Development, Health, Handloom, Handicrafts, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture and Education.
He said the exhibition panels feature QR codes- a simple scan that provides all the necessary information instantly.
Navneet Singh Kotwal from the Department of Agriculture spoke on Agricultural Startups, while highlighting how youth can utilize modern agricultural techniques in mushroom cultivation and bee-keeping for sustained revenue.
BL Ambardar from the State Bank of India spoke on Banking and Financial Schemes.
Gurnam Singh, In-charge of the CBC Field Office Udhampur, provided a comprehensive overview of CBC’s role, stating that it acts as a vital bridge between policy-makers and the masses at the grassroots level.
Vikram Uppal, Field Publicity Assistant, CBC, briefed on various components of the exhibition, and highlighted the benefits of various Government schemes.
