IIM Jammu launches Young Officer Development Programme for NHPC officials

JAMMU, Feb 23: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated a Young Officer Development Programme for officials of NHPC at its Jagti campus here today.
The week-long programme has brought together 20 young officers of NHPC for an intensive training aimed at strengthening leadership skills, strategic thinking and understanding of emerging trends in the power sector.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research.
Prof Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, along with Programme Directors Dr Guangpuanang Kahmei and Dr Lalit Pankaj, were also present.
Addressing the participants following the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, Prof Jabir Ali highlighted the importance of the energy sector in driving economic growth and described NHPC as a key green organisation with national responsibility.
He encouraged the officers to actively participate in discussions, exchange ideas and make full use of the institute’s academic resources during their stay on campus.
Prof Prashant Mishra said that executive programmes at IIM Jammu bring together officers from diverse backgrounds, creating an environment of shared learning. He stressed the need for collaboration and cross-learning to make the programme more meaningful.
Dr Guangpuanang Kahmei outlined the academic schedule for the week, which includes sessions on strategic thinking, conflict management, building high-performance teams, emerging industry trends and the future of work in the power sector. He urged participants to engage fully in the learning process.
Dr Lalit Pankaj delivered the vote of thanks and expressed confidence that the programme would help the officers enhance their professional capabilities.
The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
