MC Kathua launches anti encroachment drive

KATHUA, Feb 23: A team Municipal Council, Kathua led by CEO Amit Sharma launched anti encroachment drive in Kathua city today.
The drive was started from Shaheedi Chowk towards Main Chowk Kathua. Numbers of vendors who had encroached the footpath, road by establishing Reharies etc were removed and their Reharis were seized by Municipal Council.
The Municipal Council Executive Officer, Amit Sharma issued strict warning saying any body found violation of law in future will be punished. He asked the vendors and Rehariwalas to shift to vendor zone setup in Old Vegetable Market. He said that Pacca vendors and Reharis zone is established by Municipal Council, but the vendors avoid to shift there. The encroachment by vendors created traffic jam in the city and common man is facing problem to move on the road.
