Railway police arrests fake TTE

KATHUA, Feb 23: Following complaints of illegal extortion from Railway passengers, the Railway Police have arrested a fake TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) from inside a train. The accused was extorting money from passengers under the guise of checking tickets.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted an inspection. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as an impostor. He was immediately taken into custody and deboarded at Govindsar Railway Station. The Railway Police identified the accused Manish Kumar, son of Bikanand, a resident of Panipat, Haryana.
As per details he was operating on Train Number 12476 (Katra-Hapa Express), which was traveling from Katra towards Hapa.
A case has been registered at the GRP Police Station Kathua based on a complaint by CTC Shekhar Kumar. The police have filed an FIR and initiated further legal proceedings.
The accused is currently undergoing intense interrogation. Police are also investigating whether he is part of a larger gang or has been involved in similar criminal activities in the past. Further investigation is underway.
