NOWSHERA, Feb 23: A woman died and rickshaw driver sustained serious injuries when a JCB machine hit an e-rickshaw at Bagnoti on the Jammu-Poonch Highway
The deceased was identified as Rita Devi, wife of Inder Parkash, resident of Geeta Colony Bagnoti and the injured e-rickshaw driver as Vikas Sharma, resident of Thathi Rajal.
Both had sustained serious injuries in the mishap and were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera for treatment. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, Rita Devi succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Reports said that she was returning home after shopping from the market, as there was a marriage function scheduled at her residence.
Police have registered a case in this connection.
