JAMMU, Feb 24: Army Public School Domana organized a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mela under the theme “Learn, Play and Achieve,” aiming to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills through joyful, activity-based learning and meaningful parental involvement.
The programme commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, Surabhi Sonal, Chairperson FWO Chenab Brigade, who was warmly welcomed by Srishta Sharma, Coordinator Foundational Wing, along with Jr. Vice Head Boy Kavin (IV D) and Jr. Vice Head Girl Dammala Joshnika (IV B). The formal proceedings began with a welcome address by Class II students, followed by an interaction session with Bunnies, Cubs and Bulbuls.
Students of Classes I and II presented a creative dance performance, “Adding Beats, Subtracting Fears.” BV II students showcased “Phonics in Rhythm, Numbers in Rhyme,” while learners of BV II and III displayed creativity through “Imagination Ka Treasure Box – Jadui Pitara.” The FLN Round Tables prepared by BV III highlighted innovative teaching-learning materials. A puppetry show titled “Learning through Laughter” further reinforced key concepts.
Parents visited the FLN Mela, participated in the Feedback Tree activity and took a pledge to support their children’s educational journey. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of students and teachers. Under the leadership of Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Domana and encouragement from Anurita Koul, Headmistress, the event was successfully organized in alignment with NEP 2020.
