MSME sponsored A-ESDP starts at IIT

JAMMU, Feb 24: MSME sponsored one-week Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (A-ESDP) was inaugurated here today at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu.
The programme is themed ‘Empowering Make in India: Nurturing Entrepreneurship in Indian Manufacturing’ and is dedicated to fostering innovation, skill development and self-reliance within India’s manufacturing sector.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Prof. Meenakshi Rajeev, Dean (Outreach and Skill Development), Prof. Satya S. Bhogilla, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Rajkumar V, Associate Dean (Skill Development and CES).
The chief guest was Prof. (Dr.) Meghanshu Vashista from Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, who delivered an inspiring address and set an ambitious vision for the programme.
The programme is being coordinated by Dr. Vijay K. Pal and Dr. Shiva S from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Jammu.
The technical sessions commenced with an insightful lecture by Prof. Meghanshu Vashista on ‘Entrepreneurship in Green Manufacturing: Opportunities, Government Support and Growth Strategies.’
Continuing the focus on innovative production technologies, Dr. Rajkumar V delivered a session titled ‘Building Medical Devices through Additive Manufacturing.’
The day concluded with a forward-looking session by Dr. Anup Shukla on ‘Smart Grids and MSME.’
Over the coming weeks, IIT Jammu will conduct three additional A-ESDP programmes focusing on AI-driven smart manufacturing, energy generation and manufacturing transformation and smart and sustainable agriculture.
