POONCH, Feb 26: The District Magistrate Poonch has ordered the reopening of the Mughal Road (NH-701A) stretch from Bufliaz to Peer Ki Gali for movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) from February 27, 2026.
As per ab order, vehicles will be allowed to ply between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm only, subject to fair weather conditions and absence of any unforeseen situation.
The decision was taken after clearance of snow accumulation on the route and on the recommendation of the Officer Commanding, 79 RCC (GREF).
Meanwhile, authorities have been directed to deploy men and machinery at vulnerable and avalanche-prone areas to ensure safe and smooth movement, while police officials will regulate traffic at key points to enforce the notified timings.
Commuters have also been advised to follow traffic advisories and plan their travel accordingly.
