JAMMU, Feb 26: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) and Non Teaching Employees Association Jammu (NTEA-J) today organised a function in honour of Dr. Deepak Kher on assuming the charge of Vice Chancellor of Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim.
President Teaching Association, Dr. Vikas Sharma while reading Dr. Kher’s citation informed that Dr. Kher rendered 33 years of dedicated service to SKUAST-Jammu in various capacities, during which he served as Director Planning and Monitoring for nine long years and played a transformative role in strategic planning and institutional expansion. Among the major infrastructure projects planned and executed under his leadership was the establishment of the State-of-the-Art Baba Jitoo Auditorium, significantly enhancing the University’s academic and cultural infrastructure.
President Non Teaching Association, S.K.D. Singh informed that Dr. Kher was instrumental in securing the sanction and establishment of three new faculties – Dairy Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture along with the creation of a Division of Seed Science and through his visionary planning and persistent efforts, the University secured approximately Rs 140 corore from various funding agencies for comprehensive institutional development.
The Joint Action Committee lauded his visionary leadership, academic excellence and unwavering commitment to institutional growth, and extended their best wishes for his continued success in advancing higher education and agricultural development.
The office bearers of Teaching Association and Non Teaching Association, Dr. Vivak M Arya, Dr. P.K. Rai, Dr. Rajeev Bharat, Dr. Devinder Sharma, Dr. Poonam Parihar, Dr. Sheetal Dogra, Dr. Jasbir Manhas, Zameer-ul-Haq, Varun Dubey, Gursanjevan were also present on the occasion.
