One held for snatching purse

DODA, Feb 26: Police here today solved a purse snatching case and arrested the accused involved in the crime.
A written complaint was lodged at Police Station Doda yesterday by Shafiqa Begum, resident of Chiralla, claiming that at about 12:15 pm, an unknown person snatched her purse from near Clock Tower, Doda.
The purse contained Rs. 3,500 cash and a passbook of J&K Bank.
Accordingly, FIR with No. 42/2026 under relevant sections of BNS was registered at Police Station Doda in this regard and investigation started.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a special team of cops was constituted at Police Station Doda under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Doda and SHO Doda.
During investigation, this team picked Sameer Ahmed, son of Shoket Ali, resident of Akramabad and on his disclosure the stolen cash amounting to Rs. 3,500 along with the bank passbook was recovered from Durga Nagar.
The accused was taken into custody and investigation started.
